Led by Canon Peter Sills
4TH – 6TH APRIL 2025
(4PM FRIDAY – 2PM SUNDAY)
For many people, including Christians, the Bible can feel like a closed book. This weekend retreat opens it up, combining teaching with times of prayer and reflection. Drawing from Canon Peter Sill’s book, Six Steps Into the Bible (www.peter-sills.co.uk), you will be guided into the world of the Bible, where you’ll discover an evolving story. Here, you’ll explore how people have wrestled with the same questions we face today, witnessing how old ideas are replaced with new.
The retreat will illuminate the relationship between the Old and New Testaments, showing how concepts of God, Jesus, salvation, and morality have transformed over the centuries. You’ll come to see that Christian faith is more than just a set of beliefs; it’s about living a life where God’s will is done and His Kingdom comes on earth as it is in heaven.
Canon Peter Sills (pictured) began his career teaching Law at Kingston before serving in three parishes in the Diocese of Southwark. He later became Vice-Dean of Ely Cathedral. An experienced author, pilgrimage guide, and engaging spiritual teacher, Canon Sills has led courses and retreats across the UK, USA, and at the Anglican Centre in Rome. Now retired, he resides in Sussex with his wife, Helen.
